Pulling against the stream

My face above the water
My feet can’t touch the ground,
Touch the ground, and it feels like
I can see the sands on the horizon
Every time you are not around

I’m slowly drifting (drifting away)
Wave after wave, wave after wave
I’m slowly drifting (drifting away)
And it feels like I’m drowning

Pulling against the stream
Pulling against the stream

I wish I could make it easy
Easy to love me, love me
But still I reach, to find a way
I’m stuck here in between
I’m looking for the right words to say

I’m slowly drifting, drifting away
Wave after wave, wave after wave
I’m slowly drifting (drifting away)
And it feels like I’m drowning
Pulling against the stream
Pulling against the stream

  1. Hi SImon,
I will most definitely give a listen – Amy WInehouse is one of my favorites – her unique voice and style was rising up above the din of bubblegum singers… I’ll forever wonder – along with many others – how her music stylings would have grown…
    AnnMarie 🙂
    Have a beautiful week…

  2. Yeah I agree 🙂 some people was. Born with The gift of singing straight into the heart ❤ .. Search on YouTube for "Airto" and his cover of Amy wine house "back to black . I dare you to not run to the licker store ,embarres your parents with the amount of redwine bought , go home and cry your heart out after hearing it … Oh my ..oh my …every time I hear that song I feel like calling my high school crush and say all those things I didn't say 🙂 What would the world be without music and art … Thank you for being you Ann ❤
